Hello,
I may be getting a new computer soon, and I just wanted to know the following.
Is it possible to transfer the iSketch data from an old computer to a new computer, so you don't lose any stats? It does not say anywhere you aren't allowed to do this, so is it possible to do?
There must be a file somewhere.
Replies appreciated

I'm pretty sure that a new computer = new stats.
aka I don't believe they're transferable.

Hm,
I wonder what this user meant when he/she posted this (on this Forum):
I kept my old hard drive, so I suppose I could go and rake out the cookie.. but honestly? I can't be bothered lol
I probably misunderstood him.

I don't think it's in the hard drive, maybe. I think it's only linked to your IP, because I have played iSketch with Firefox and then on AOL on the same account on the same computer (and once at the same time), but each time I had different stats. AOL always has a different IP address. That's the only reason I don't believe it's in your hard drive... but maybe it is...
If you have several accounts on your computer, then I know the stats are different for each account. But that could be a hard drive issue.
doesnt take long to rebuild your stats back up!In fact they look sad after a while..

If you transfer a hard drive from an old computer to a new one, all the information within it, including shockwave and all the bugs and probable incompatibilities with your new system, comes with it.
So unless you're willing to ditch the new HD for the old one... i say play your 10 games, rid yourself of the newbie dot and enjoy. Many of us have had to dump our stats for a new computer over the years many times. Eventually it won't matter.

If you want to get rid of your noob status REALLY quickly (idk if it's exactly 2 minutes though :P) you could head over to Blitz!....
no blitz its a 10 game round:P, you want 1 game rounds.
He won't be able to do that anymore i think. He's going to have to play his 10 rounds in a regular room.
What's the rush anyway?

I was a newbie the other say, and it took 18 games to get privs :s so idk if it will be 10.. maybe it was just my comp.. Hmmm anyways(:

I thought the newbie dot went after 10 games....but the priviliges aren't necessarily linked to that?

I thought if you're not a newb anymore then you get privileges? Pretty sure they're linked.
For some reason I figured that it's linked to the amount of time you spend in the game, for example, an hour. On my Mac, and still a "newb," I have played at least once or twice every other week, but I don't believe I've finished ANY games yet. And I'm still waiting for that newb dot to disappear. So it could be based on the number of games you finish!
Good luck on becoming not-a-newb. The very first time I had to restart my stats (yeeeaars ago), I was practically depressed. But that was when my computer fried or something and I lost tons of other valuable stuff, so I was in a really emotional state right then. Had to restart stats again months later, and then again later, and again, and currently trying again on my new Mac here.
My point is that you'll get used to it.
People aren't meant to know about that test, thats perhaps why it was deleted. I've got mine backed up,wouldn't be surprised if your post is deleted again.
And so it was. That is troublesome info. Can't stop you from sharing privately, but we don't want to have it posted on the forum for everyone to see.
