Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries.

In this game, the poster will nominate someone well-known, and the following poster will explain how they are connected to them (even better if it's real)

For example:

Mary Donaldson - Crown Princess of Denmark
My friend Michelle (1) , lives next door to the teacher (2) who taught Mary's sister (3) in primary school.

OK, the next poster is connected to David Beckham

my kindergarten teacher (1) has a similar first name (2) (1 letter change)

Tiger Woods

Saffron - great idea for a game! Though not sure how well it will work if we don't know we're connected to some of them =]

Yes :(
Hmm Maybe we could just....use it as an "I'm connected to [name] in this way...." rather than naming someone for another poster ....

Yeah saff I was thinking the same. I actually liked this thread and was thinking of ways to make this work or forcefully connect myself to David Beckham lol! But yeah, your new idea is probably a bit better cos I thought about the "people" connections I had to famous people and there aren't many tbh :/

Hope this thread kicks off now :)

Ok so going from Saffy's new idea:

My school Latin teacher (1) is the uncle (2) of George Michael
