As much as I love how good snow looks and all that, I have to go out tomorrow (and it's not for myself). I figure my 20-25min drive is going to take well over an hour... tested the snow underfoot and its icey as hell. Hope Highways is on the ball, but even if they are I've seen the plough dude go past about 3 times... seems to settle as fast as they can clear it.

Thick snow outside here now. I would go outside and test the depth but it's 4am and it's gonna be very cold outside. It's not very often you get to look at settled snow. It looks very picturesque. I do love watching snow falling, but I feel for the Monday morning travellers going to work/school/college etc.

Its above my ankles... I should give up smoking, its bad for my trousers.

Here's a little tip - if it's nighttime and snowing heavily, and the motorways are nice and not-icy, go out for a drive with your headlights on and with the light reflected off the snow coming at you really fast, it looks like you're going warp-speed :P

Seriously though - drive safe everyone. I'm guessing not many of you have 'winter tires' on your cars, so you could really skid in this weather. Be safe!

Why wasn't my day at uni cancellled?!!
I like snow but when you cant walk between buildings without people pelting you with snowballs, and it takes you over an hour to get home, takes the pisssss.
To make it worrse, me and my friend were coming back from teaa, and all the lads from our floor were hidden behind the wall to our halls waiting with snowballs. They actually looked EEEEEvil, like they wanted to proper hurt us! Gah!

Uhhh right. I have no idea about inches but my feet were covered. :D We made the most massive snow woman. :D she was so cool and she was taller than me :D Snow fights everywhere we went, but we found a pretty uninhabited green to make our lady snow :D lololol it was going to be a bunny, but yeah. And yeah had so much snow fights. Every school/college etc in the area was closed. It's still been snowing today.. but it's not been as heavy (Although predicted to sleet/snow all night tonight) Eh. Yeah we have looooooads of snow here. It's mad. In the morning out garden table had six inches of snow on it and now it has about eight inches. Went to Tesco by walk earlier this evening, it wasn't cold at all and really nice walking in fresh snow although there were slushy bits on main roads. I'm thinking about going for an early walk tomorrow morning when it's safer to walk about. It's really nice and everyone you see is in such a good mood!

Apparently, Surrey was the county that had the most snow. I had much fun walking home from work at 11pm last night. There's still lots of snow outside and we also have a snowman in our garden who is about 5 and a half feet high :D

I think it's too small for me to fit inside (although I haven't actually tried - might try it tomorrow if I get bored!). I shoved my son inside though, although he wasn't too impressed as he really hates snow lol. I live with another kid here who is 6, and he has decided that it's the new snowy dog kennel and keeps shoving our puppy inside. I think the puppy hates it as much as my son does though lol.

Before I saw snow for the first time, I was under the impression that it fell down in spherical balls.

I was amazed the first time I saw snow too. I was driving through this really heavy rain....and all of a sudden everything went quiet, and the raindrops just started.....gently falling and settling on the car....and I realised it was snow! It's a pretty awesome feeling really.

The first time I saw snow (that I remember of) was when I was about 5 years old. My mum took a picture of me making a snow angel. You know, when you lay flat on your back and move your arms and legs sideways. Hee hee, the memories. I love the first few hours of snow, it's great fun. Playing in it is absolutely awesome but driving is another story.

Actually, that's a pallet - I think that's what they are called - like what they store things on in warehouses. I don't know why it's there. It's not my front garden, it's part kids playground (the bit behind the trees to the left), part farmland (like.. see where the trees are which go from the middle to the right of the picture? In front of them there's some fence posts - well, beyond that is Sauerkraut country, lol) and the rest of it is just... meadow-type wasteland.

You can't see the front garden from the shot - it's taken from high up - but our front garden is in no way as massive as that :P

Yeah, I've just seen the forecast for tomorrow. Apparently North East England is getting more snow tonight. We're not getting any, just as my cold disappears too :(

Ugh, it's all turned to slush! I've been slipping and sliding all the way home (not falling though hehe)!

Its 10.39 pm in essex and the streets are filling with snow again, its coming down very hard and fast here, will be inches laid by morning.
So i suppose life will grind to a halt again tomorrow no banks open no buses ffs.

My neice, nephew, sister and b-i-l in Luton made a gant teddy bear of a snowman! It's better than my friend's snow cat thing I posted. Too bad I forgot to have them give me a copy :( It looked gigantic with my niece and nephew standing next to it too :o

Snowwwwwwwwwwwwww! Finally a decent amount. About 8 inches. But the windchill is about 6F. Brrrrrr.
/me scurries about gathering up gloves and boots and coats for the doggies.
