View Full Version : Some admins are immature

So I went on isketch today, joined an English Easy US room and when it was my turn to draw. My word was Ace. So I thought, I could draw a test paper with a 100% score on it, or draw a card with an A and a heart at the corner.
I drew the card, then someone gave me a warning, I was like ok drawing a letter is not allowed? Sure. Then some admin kicked me from the game and then blocked me from logging on.

So my opinion is, are the admins like 14 years old who uses their admin power randomly? Really drawing a letter A is going to get me blocked? I mean when you hit the hint button it shows a letter as well. It's not like I'm writing words/sentences on the board. Ok even if it's not allowed, just give me a warning and tell me I shouldn't do that. There was no need to block someone from playing with a bunch of his friends. We all thought this admin was ridiculous. Too bad I don't have his/her name, I would put it here, lol.

Hey there shadowsyt and firstly, welcome to the forum :)

Never use letters - whether or not they are related to the puzzle.

It does state in the rules and also when your word is given to draw that letters are not allowed. It is expected that players read the rules before joining a game room, so most people should know by the time it comes to their turn to draw, that letters cannot be used.

I drew the card, then someone gave me a warning

Do you mean you received a player vote or a message from *Admin*?

Letters on screen mean that other players are allowed to use their vote to skip you and they are also actionable by admins. This could result in getting a message from *Admin*, losing points, or it can even earn you a block from the game.

I mean when you hit the hint button it shows a letter as well.

The first hint gives the guessers the number of letters in your word. Only when you hint twice or three times will the first and second letters be displayed respectively.

Too bad I don't have his/her name, I would put it here, lol.

We have a no admin-naming policy on this forum to protect admin anonymity.

All I'm really saying is to be careful when using letters, otherwise you'll end up in a spot of bother :)

The difference is that when you use the hint feature it decreases the points you can score for that round accordingly.

It's not, it says so in big black bold letters before each time you draw.

Too bad I don't have his/her name, I would put it here, lol.
Your post would be edited and the name removed anyway.

Whilst I agree that perhaps a warning would have been more suitable if this was your first offense it's just a block and not a ban, so you will be back on iSketch soon enough. Take a quick look at the rules before you play again to avoid anymore trouble.

EDIT -- LOL @ Debbie beating me by one minute!! Pro!

Teehee ;)

But yeah Meds is right, the hint feature is there to help, but you do lose two points for each hint that you use.

If it is your first letter offence I find it unlikely that you would have been blocked from the game, but patience is the key, you'll be back playing in no time, I'm sure :)

Another way to draw 'Ace' is just to draw that heart in the middle and the card. Try it and see if people still can guess the word 'Ace'. You will be surprised how the people on here are used to 'read' a picture without letters. It's way more classy and fun!
Good luck!

Each time you hint though, it will cost you 2 points. You can also only use it up to three times, so there is actually a cost to using the hint button.

you could have drawn a face..or space or a shoelace too ...anything with the word "ace" contained in it would have worked, and would also have eliminated the "need" for a letter..

Whether you know the admin name or not, naming and shaming on here is not allowed.

As far as blocking for letters, people should simply play by the rules in the public rooms. Or they have the option to open a custom room if they won't or can't play by the rules. Simple. If they have been blocked for a period of time, my guess is they've done it before.

Yeah...at the time I posted the reply in this thread, I hadn't realised, don't worry.
