Hello everyone,

I've joined the forums seeking help, help which will allow me to recover my long gone studio-made sketches before the reset...

I made about 13 drawings. And after the reset everything was gone... Since then I've only felt like drawing 4 sketches... And then I checked the instructions concerning the studio. And stumbled upon the "/file load file" command and decided to try it out.

So I typed "/file load 5"... The number 5 doesn't technically exist. And here's what it said :

"Loading file "Atlantic Puffin"...
File format too old!
Sketch #5 not found!I then thought the only way it recalls the name of the old file... Is through the computer, considering the sketches are saved in the computer.

So, is there any way of retrieving my old sketches????
And why does it say that the format is too old???

Thank you :)

Well I know nothing about this kind of thing, but I'd assume that after the reset they upgraded isketch in certain formats etc etc and so the old pictures aren't compatible with the new um... isketch-ness. Gosh I can't think of technical words, but yeah. I'm guessing that there probably isn't any way to get your old sketches back unless you emailed feedback with your query. That's what I'd do, because maybe there is some way for you to downgrade to access your sketches, or something. :/ But yeah...

Every now and then the isketch server and the game get bug fixes and tweaking, your drawing may have been lost during one. Fret not, try drawing it again, i'm sure it'll come out much better than before. :)

Eh....
Wasn't hoping for much to be honest.
Thank's...

I guessed that with the update the format was changed...

Just curious, since the sketches are stored in the computer, can I get my hand on them???.... Maybe if I find them I can view them... Not via iSketch?
That would be the last resort.

Well maybe you could do a search of your pc using find or look through your cookies or so and then find the file, then maybe try and switch the format into something you could view it on, or use a file viewer, but tbh I'd say it's a pretty long shot. :/

The error message "File format too old!" suggests to me that changes have been done to the iSketch client which were big enough to warrant a version change, and the client probably only shows you sketches which have the same version number saved into them as the version you are using. There would probably be a way, but I'm not sure where the drawings are saved, or even if they were deleted (seems not if it recalled a name of your drawing?) and even if they are in their own separate file in the filesystem. It's also likely that they are compressed, and possibly even encrypted (although that seems like overkill.)

The reason this is done is because the drawings are saved as instructions like "use the pen and draw a point from here to here." If the tools are upgraded, the drawing will end up looking different too. I personally think this is being a bit too much on the safe and lazy side, because the tools are practically the same (ttbomk.)

Sorry for your loss though, but you could always draw them again! As 2.0 put it, they'll probably turn out better since you'll have hindsight on your side :P

Well thank's to everyone for your kind regard towards this thread :)

(I hate doing something that I've done all over again TBH)

But meh
