No matter what I do, I can't seem to log in with my account name and password, I always get a temporary account. Am I going to the wrong places? Where do i make an official account?

there are no accounts or passwords...just type in you chosen name and cross your fingers that no-one is logged in with the same name.

Yes, the password is only necessary if your username is registered, but registrations aren't publicly available.

You can still play the game with a "temporary account", but as elfy said, just select a screen name and click logon, simple really :)
