View Full Version : Suggestions for new types of gaming rooms on iSketch

Hey,
I have been playing iSketch for over 18 months now and have played in the basic rooms to Blitz, Tandem etc . . .
But some rooms have their pros as well as their conns and I have often grown frustrated in certain rooms for varying reasons.
If there are any types of gaming rooms that you would like to see, then please give your suggestions along with explainations, if possible.
Thank you

I've never played in a room where there's a limit on the no. of guesses but that would be cool (it's one of the option settings when you create a room). There are so many cool options and combinations possible in the Advanced tab! =D
Nice thread. :)

My own personal preference will be of a room that will have to have a minimum of 7/8 players not on away status, and that the game will not continue unless that requirement was met.
Too many times, myself included  , I feel lazy to play and the actual game gets less and less competetive.
Thank you

There's already a sport room... not specific though, and as far as I know it's different types of sports and sporting terms; were you thinking of a sports teams and personalities type of room?
The only type of room I've ever really wanted added isn't a new type as such. I'd like to have Anything But, Blitz! and Connections with UK lists.

Well, I know I would sound boring here, but I know there are sport themed rooms, but they cover a variety of sports, if I'm not mistaken.
Say for football, I would like to see it on concentrated on European Club football, however, that would require a lot of time and effort, I would imagine,
Football was a rather unimaginative idea that appeared in my head so I think it would be wise to let others express their opinions as I can not think of anything eye catching at the moment

You need a minimum of 1500 words on a word list. I don't know enough about European Club football to know how feasible that is. (I think it might be too specific though?)

Sorry about my previous two posts, rather boring and lacked effort to write. If only there was a way to purge any mention of them
I have always enjoyed art throughout my childhood and one room I would like to see would be one based on the works of the most notable artists in history.
Of course, such a room would require a lot of skills, not only in an artistic sense, but also creatively. I doubt I could conjure up a draw in the style of Dali  but there have been very popular artistic styles that are commonly used today, such as the inspiration of Pop Art.
Possibly, the drawing tools may also need to be brushed up (I'm entitled to a few puns  ) to help cover as many artistic styles as possible, such as those found on another site which shall remain nameless.
I always feel that it helps to improve the skills and creativity by being able to express yourself in such a way and for me personally, would make me proud to see that I have the capability to draw in a variety of ways.
I wouldn't expect such a room to be played competitively, more like in the style of Tandem Lounge.
Thank you

Did you know that there's a Famous Art room and an Art Terms room? I'm personally a bit scared to try them but they seem like they'd be right up your alley :D
I remember getting invited to a user-created room called .... Five, Five, Five, Five or something along those lines... (maybe just Five?) and it consisted of:
5 second grace period
limit of 5 guesses
limit of 5 strokes
I think you were also given the option to choose from 5 words
I loved that concept because:
it was like a blitz!-5 stroke hybrid
since you had a couple words to chose from you could work with the harder wordlists
you could change it to any number

Ahh I didn't know.
I just need to have a regular sleeping pattern and try one of those rooms. Doesn't help me staying up near 4am
Who needs to http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii224/jsinghd/beer.gif when I can have my daily fix of iSketch?
Is there any way to get a copy of the current word lists used in I-Sketch? o.O

Uh I guess you would email feedback for that. (or the person who created the list? if you knew them? assuming they were allowed to release it?)
I don't think your chances of obtaining one from feedback are very good...
Actually though...
I know people that have gotten the wordlist from a room that created it as they played in the room...
You could always create your own wordlist...

I suppose that we can abolish the current format of basic gaming rooms and have rooms set to a required standard so that you can enter rooms depending on your status  (i.e. junior member . . . royal member)
All newcomers will start out with other n00bs and gradually work their way up to the top, although this suggestion would require registrations . . . dangit!

As I sit "playing" (more like watching) in the Science room, I am thinking to myself "Why am I, a music major, playing in SCIENCE?!?!"
And it has dawned on me....there is no room for classical music! So many neat things could be done with that, from composers to musical definitions (we'd have to decide on one language for those, my vote is Italian, ie allegro, andante, etc), to instruments. I would looooove that, and it would help me study for those dreaded theory exams!
Maybe while I am still on maternity leave, I should go through my text books and make up a wordlist, hehe. I've played with a few musicians before and I think that this could fly. There is a Music room but it's just popular bands and such. No classical *tear*

'Cos you looooove Sci!!
I would also like to see a Sports Personalities/Teams room, just gotta sit down and write the list :s
Although a minor thing, I'd like the round to end when each player who is not "Away" has correctly guessed the word, so that we're not waiting for a "grey" player who may or may not be playing.

Something I thought of when I started this thread but didn't include it. I must have sent you a subliminal message
What I would also like to see is that the done button to be used only when all players who are not on away status have guessed correctly.
Personally, I believe someone should phone Rob and tell him to do so otherwise I'm gonna hack into iSketch and do it myself
I reckon the done button adds a bit of tension (and strategy at a push). You never know if you will have till the end of the timer to guess...
I know I'm in a minority here though!

Make sure it's a very comfy chair !! The last word list I compiled took well over six months. I'm sure Rob would love to receive new wordlists but please keep in mind that they must be correctly spelled and drawable. 1500 sounds like a target that's not so hard to hit but believe me it's not an easy task.

Speed room? Where rounds are 30 seconds each?
THAT would be challenging.

You have to have damn good hands to make a draw in that time . . . unless the word is "nothing"

LMFAO, challenging for most of us, yes!
But for Gio? The guy must be on drugs! How can he draw that damn quick?

I like the idea of the room though, could be very intriguing.
Nobody ever wants to play in my 1 stroke 1 guess rooms :(

Awww lol *hugs*
To be honest, I don't like stroke rooms, I get very impatient and when the draw suddenly appears and everyone else guesses before me, just makes me

I like doing my draw in one stroke....but last night in Tandem I did that and my partner ended up drawing their own thing that appeared once I was done mine. For the record, mine was awesome and my partner's was crap....it was a basket
Hehe note to self: one stroke doesn't work well in Tandem :P
That's why there's 1 stroke :D
I meant to say 1 guess, of course :embarrassed:

Actually Java, Im liking that idea.
And spec's 5-5-5 - the idea of limiting the amount of guesses is appealing....
So long as I can guess personsinglealonelyfemalewoman XD
I also agree with NoHints - some of the specialist rooms would be nice to have a UK wordlist option - particularly Blitz!
