View Full Version : Time for a rant!

Recently it seems that almost every room I go into is full of immature, rude neanderthals! I am fed up with their racist comments, the insults that they use so readily, drawings of male genitals and the number of people who do not seem to try to get them booted!

Last night I changed rooms several times to find a "normal" room with players who were there to actually play the game. I eventually gave up.

I am not condemning admins here as I know they can not be around all the time and when they are they usually do a very good job. I am just annoyed with the number of ****wits that use iSketch and I wish they would **** off! Arghhhh, I am now using their language!

Rant over. Many thanks

Not long now till the school holidays end... Not that I'd be so ageist as to presume that the problem will alleviate on or around 4th September. :)

Still, I've found myself playing more lately, so if you're looking for a room full of maturity and acceptable language - don't come in to a room I'm in! ;o)

Rofl Yes. Ahaha.
My advice would be to look for names you recognise first before you join a room. If you even recognise a name, most of the time these people are more.. uhh.. long term players? So they're less likely to be silly as they would have been banned by now. Less likely, not definately :P Take Ches for example. :P

I usually look at the rooms that are over-filled and figure that they're likely not really bad n00bs. Sometimes they are still annoying because they're in large numbers...but at least if some of them know how to use the /invite function, I think that's a bit of a plus. Sort of.

But I know what you mean....there's never anyone in Blitz!, Connections, Two Words (Big Pic), Double Trouble.....even Tandem if I'm feeling desperate. So basically there are only the Easy rooms to play in....

I just got annihilated by some of the noobiest little noobie noobs ever.

For some reason, only they could see what each others UNBELIEVABLY poor draws where!!

For example, one of them drew some utter mess that was a vague pink squiggle and scribbled all over the screen. one of the little t**ts got it. the answer was turtle! There was no hint whatsover as to what it was!

and then it went on and on and on. Each drawing worse than the last and they could see what it was with their s**t eyes!

I HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE them!!!

I must stop playing late at night . . .half full rooms and full of them. Rats. all of them. Filthy feral little ...

Also - people that dont understand on letters means precisely that - NO LETTERS!!!

"Oh ffs - calm down - I didnt write the answer"

Rofl You do realise they could have been saying stuff via msn or something... :p This usually happens between 2 players where they draw ♥♥♥♥ and the draws look nothing like their words yet the other player gets it.
Not that that's any consolation, but yeah.
Although yeah, most of them are just irritating little mreeeh. :) If you suspect cheating you can just vote to kick for cheating and see if a admin will come and check if they are. :)

If they're regular noobs, they might recognise the admin and stop conferring answers once he/she arrives, in which case the voter can look a bit iffy :/. Authentic noobs shouldn't be able to recognise them so vote away in their case :D.

Yeah but if they've already been kicked for cheating that should appear somewhere for that ip or something.. I'm not sure how the admin screen works or w.e. but I know they can see previous kicks or what not. And if you're a regular player, the admin will know to trust you. Also the admins can come in invisible. -shrugs- all will help. :)
I just say, vote either way, and eventually they'll get caught. That's what a certain friend told me. Just vote and one day they'll get banned, even if it's not that first time. You're using your votes well and what they're meant to be used for. :)

no . . .I can spot a cheater a mile off. These weren't cheating. Just drawing so bad that only people on their basement standard level could understand what they were getting at.

Rofl well then that's just a pain in the ass. I've had that a few times and it's done my head in.. :/
I don't understand how people can draw so bad. O_O

i like playing isketch to relax and unwind . . . . .

Playing late at night does the exact opposite.

Also . . .what the f**k is an admin doing, having a go at me for trying to help her boot some clueless racist t**ts!!!

I'm not being rude . .I'm trying to HELP you love!

May I suggest a couple of ways to help you enjoy iSketch.

1. Try to play at slightly different times than you usually do. It might help, although it is impossible to tell when unruly players will enter the room.
2. Play in more advanced and/or special rooms. Usually cheaters seem to hang out in the Easy rooms and these people are less common in more advanced rooms. Again, it might help but you are not guaranteed to avoid them altogether.
3. Create your own room. This can be done by clicking on the "Create Room" button directly from the lobby. You can then customise your room to exactly how you want it and set your own rules. You can also kick people out of your own room if they do not abide by your room rules.

I hope these help :)

Just 'played' for the first time in a couple of weeks just now.

The most depressing 28 minutes of my day, and I went in to uni just to get books out for my dissertation.

Why do people behave like cretins on the internet when I'm sure they're fine in real life?

sad days.

would you prefer people to be cretins irl, online stupidity is common and much easier to deal with!

I think it's partly because they can get away with it by hiding behind a computer screen
I'm sure people would be a lot more careful if this happened more often:

Another annoying thing is when people start writing and then try to vote you out for warning them. I let it slide sometimes when people write "lol" in the last second, but some write the whole word or tell you how many letters it has. Maybe this should become the "official" rant thread...lol

Some more ranting:
Don't you hate it when you warn a player for writing and, after he/she clears the canvas, a lazy admin comes in, sees no violation and, instead of asking what the warning was about, sends you a message about not to abuse the voting system, when in fact you did not.
Wouldn't this discourage people from exercising their right to warn those who violate the rules?

There should be a window that shows the drawing at a time of a warning for admin to see.

So it's like a still picture at the moment of the warning. So if you got a warning then lazy would not be the word, ignorant is better suited.

Yep, and that happened to me and another player just a week or so ago. Maybe it's the same 'admin'.

And as usual when admin make mistakes (if it even was a mistake), they're invisible and don't stick around to explain themselves when you question it in chat.

I agree for some reason when players find an online game, their own set of ethics, if they had them in the first place, flies right out the window.

For some reason online games do not demand the same high standard of etiquette that offline games demand, or perhaps they cheat in these as well and swear at their opponents?

Here in New Zealand, we have just had an interesting issue where it involved a former principal of a High School in my town who moved down south to a new High School. He took his set of ethics with him, and asked
that the students stand when teachers enter a room and a few other minor requests.

This resulted in death threats from many of the students on Facebook, these students are now facing prosecution by the police.

So this is a good lesson for anyone reading this, there ARE consequences of acting up online. Please be fair to other players and let them enjoy the games.

Honestly some of these quote: Cretins unquote have no-one in mind except for themselves.

Thanks to all our GOOD players who do enjoy the game and play fairly.

I am more likely to cheat in those games actually... i call it 'creative playing' but yet i dont like to cheat in online games, its no fun if they cant see you
