Why is it that TV programmers can't get it right?

They put crap on TV like Big Brother and say its on from 7:30pm to 8:30pm and then schedule a show like NCIS that you want to watch for 8:30pm

Then when you go to watch NCIS you find that they have "run overtime" and they do so until 9:00pm. If they are putting this crap on for an hour and a half, then they should bloody well schedule it and not deceive the public by falsely advertising it.

If they want their stations to do well - they should just get this one thing right - put a show on for an hour and stick to the times. If it is going to run over - then DONT SHOW IT! Unless of course it's the NRL Grand Final or a One Day International Cricket Match.

Alfred Hitchcock is famously quoted as having said:

"Drama is real life with all the boring bits cut out."

/me says "They have found a new outlet for the boring bits - it's called Big Brother!"

Actually it's not a bad show. Naval Criminal Investigative Service (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/ncis/)

Stars Mark Harmon and David McCallum features occasionally as a medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard. Oh and Lauren Holly is the rather cute NCIS Director .

It can be annoying when sporting events run over into other TV shows but understandable at least because they are not competely predictable, but for things like Big Brother, which are editted overnight, have a set time slot etc, there is no excuse. Even with the live shows the hosts still have control over what happens. It does seem to be a bit sneaky, maybe trying to suck viewers in who would normally not think of watching.

Meh, we're living in a media controlled world. Do what I do and don't have a telly* :P

*disclaimer - I have no TV because we are too lazy to find out about free satellite dishes that can pick up English AND German TV for this area, not because I am taking a moral highground on the state of TV today. Having had no TV for over a year now though, I don't miss it! We still watch DVDs and stuff.

We get it on 5 Ches. It's the best programme out

I'm hacked off this week because the BBC cancelled ALL my programmes for the bloomin snooker! What's with that? There's few programmes I will not miss and I was forced to miss them this week. Now that hacks me off BIG time. And the snooker, come on, it's worse than watching paint dry. Give me back Sweet Baby James
