Hi guys,
This thread is designed as a warning for others, i thought of it after watching the most awful film i have ever seen.
The idea is you post the name of a film you most definately would not recommend as it was so bad and an insult to the film industry.
I will watch any film once but i must say the film PAINKILLER JANE soooooo bad and i needed painkillers after.
don't waste your time watching it instead watch a film you have already seen and enjoy it again as this film is not worth 2 hours of your life
hope this thread proves useful

Creep
Worst horror movie ever. No meaning, no story, no explanations....just crap.
Luckily I saw Cruel Intentions 2 on a coach, otherwise I would have run away.
I hadn't seen part 1. Still haven't, obviously.
But don't let that guide you, many people actually enjoyed it.

I thought it was quite good... I didn't like the fact that there is no final explanation, but you do get the odd bit here and there.

And then find a copy of Dangerous Liasons, its a play which was filmalized with John Malkovich in it. Its what Cruel Intentions is based on and is also very good.
Hostel is a terrible film that should be avoided at all costs.
Rocky Balboa was pretty awful, and I really like the first 5.

OMG - Hostel - that had a great DVD cover and looked promising.
I should have demanded my money back with interest. Boring pointless - although there were a few half decent shagging scenes in it - learned some new moves.

Vanilla Sky, it's not big and it's not clever, people can just go too far trying to be arty farty and different sometimes and the result is this film

Hostel is no good? Oh well, it's sitting with a load of others on DVD behind me, waiting to be watched anyway ... it'll pass a couple of hours if I'm bored.
I think the film I would most urge people to avoid is The Village. It bored me senseless by halfway and when a friend came onto MSN I chose to talk to them rather than suffer any more of it. Then again, I bored of Signs and thought The Sixth Sense was dragging and tedious too. I guess I just don't 'get' M Night Shamalamadingdong's films

Spanglish. Had Adam Sandler but uhmm I didn't laugh.
That movie with hugh grant and that chick from charlie's angels with the music and the lyrics what the hell was the name... sigh... what a piece of junk.

It had Hugh Grant in. That, in itself, is warning enough - title isn't important

I thought Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were very good, but I wholly agree that the Village and Signs should be on anyone's 'avoid like the plague' list

/me gasps!
But.. but.. I love his films. The Village included. I'm disheartened, Fen.
That said, I didn't think Signs was all that. It was watchable, but forgettable, lol (quite easily too). But yeah I do enjoy his films. I think they're clever. Especially the twists. Unbreakable is my favourite one out the lot of his films though. Pleeeease told me you've seen it and enjoyed it :P

He's not that bad! I thought 'About A Boy' was a good film. Best thing he's done, lol. It was hilarious. Either that or I'm just easily amused..

The live-action version of the cat in the hat was by far the worst piece of film I have ever seen in my entire life! Thank goodness Shrek saved Mike Myers... because he was swirling down the pan... especially considering it was a children's film which attempted, and failed disgracefully to entertain adults too... I think when he hit himself in the face with a hoe and said 'You skanky hoe' or something to that effect I actually felt annoyed I'd paid for a ticket.

instead of a particular film i'm just gonna advise of a certain actor to steer clear of:
steven seagal(yawn,wooden, not funny!)

"The One" starring Jet Li.
"The One" being short for "The One in a Million reasons why you should never watch that film again."
Honestly, there's even a weird scene involving a mouse with a bomb up its jacksie....
It may have a cult following here and if i see one more vote for pedro shirt I will barf my kids favourite Napolean Dynamite *shudder*

This just made me thought, excuse me for going slightly off-topic.
Shrek three has a mild language parent advisory warning  I know it doesn't sound like much but I was annoyed enough when the word 'Bloody' was used in Shrek 2. I know it was only in one scene but it was used more than once and while the fairy godmother was angry. Since when has it been acceptable for that to be part of a children's film?
It worries me...alot!
My worst film is 'Snow falling on Cedars'. I am sure it's very deep and beautiful and meaningful - and I like those kinds of films sometimes, but for me this one got me to the state of boredom where I wanted to stand up and scream just for something to do. I was watching it with a bunch of friends so I couldn't just turn it off. Seriously I have watched Greek movies with no dubbing and subtitles which have entertained me more.

Biggest dissapointment of the last year or so (barring Hostel, which was terrible until the end, and then not much better) had to be The Island with Ewan McGregor. I'm a big fan of near future stuff, so was utterly let down by that piece of crap.

saw 3 and hostel deserve an honourable mentions for being so pointlessly sadistic.
greatest film of all time however. . this is spinal tap.

 You're banned from my house then clungeface  Love Actually is fantastic!!!
Worst Film Ever for me has to be this pointless film called 'The Cube'. Complete and utter drivel.
lmao! The Cube!
I saw that when I was going through an arty-farty movie buff phase (my boyfriend at the time was a film student) and I remember talking about it to a like minded nincompoop, saying things like 'the concept was innovative, but I found the cinematography sadly lacking' blah blah
/me cringes

LMAO... the reason I watched it was not dissimilar to yours actually  I could never get my head around it... though at the time, I 'pretended' that I did... so as not to lose face. Interestingly enough, a friend who I watched it with did later confess to me that he too couldn't grasp it. Thank goodness we are not the only ones
/me cringes with Vik in the corner... stuck in a cube... trying to get out

I enjoyed it. It's one of those movies where you have to have been in a situation like that to truly appreciate it. Foreign countries suck.

Sorry TF, but i agree. not banned from my house bad but it's right up there with all the other clin firth movies i've ever seen. Not even cute that one.
saw 3 and hostel deserve an honourable mentions for being so pointlessly sadistic. pointless? check, sadistic? check. Fun? Maybe, worth spending $14 for the dvd? nah.

I have to agree with you there clungeface. Dire!!!
Another film that gets a firm thumbs down for me has to be The Da Vinci Code. The book was far better - and can you believe it... they even changed the sodding ending of the film!! Some books are not meant for the 'big screen' - this being one of them.
 You're banned from my house then clungeface  Love Actually is fantastic!!!

Love Actually was Actually Rubbish :P
I liked 'The Cube'... I thought it was pretty good. And not in the 'arty-farty' way previously mentioned. lol. However... Cube 2 is rubbish. Goes to show that a bigger budget is no substitution of a bit of imagination.
