ok, so wasn't really sure where to post this thread but as it is inspired by an episode of Friends thought i'd go for media.
the idea of it is,(now some of you may have seen this episode)that you name you list of top 5 celebrities that should you meet on the street your partner would allow you to spend a night with them with no consequences.
This may take a little bit of time for you all to finalise your lists(i know i can probably never confirm mine)
could be interesting to see what floats peoples boats
Hope all that makes sense...so
mine would be:
1, Brad Pitt(obvious i know)
2, Chris Wolstenholme (bassist for Muse)
3, Dave Grohl
4, Seth Green
5, Mickey Bell (used to play for Bristol City and i've had a crush on him ever since i was 14, my first love, lol)
Bad_MaNneR$

Angelina Jolie (It's the KSL's)
Sandra Bullock
Michelle Pfeiffer
Then a toss up for 4th and 5th - Halle Berry - Jennifer Love Hewitt - Sara Michelle Gellar - Charisma Carpenter - Drew Barrymore

that our partners wouldn't mind... okay. i don't have a partner. so i'll ignore that bit. and i'll also assume that this means that we choose 5 celebrities of the opposite gender.
and 2.0, a total milf? hmm, wanna show your wife that? :P
1. Daniel Radcliffe, he seems very sweet and shy on his interviews.
2. Tyson Ritter, he cracks me up. he's the lead singer for the All-American Rejects. incidentally, he sucks at singing when you listen to recordings of their live concerts.
3. maybe one of the older actors, like... Brad Pitt, or Tom Cruise (even though he seems like a total whack job) or George Clooney. it'd be interesting to ask them about being famous for such a long time.
4. Johnny Depp, for sure. i love all the weird characters he plays in movies... i love Jack Sparrow, and Willy Wonka, and Edward Scissorhands...
5. and maybe one of the teenage heartthrobs at the moment, like Chad Michael Murray or Orlando Bloom, etc?
EDIT: wow, just google imaged Rebecca Romijn. O_O
in one of her posters, she's wearing this skimpy white top that's see through. you can see her nipple.

1. George Clooney
2. George Clooney
3. George Clooney

5. George Clooney.
Although I must admit, Pierce Brosnan was a close runner up for fifth place.

She is hot - used to be married to John Stamos from that show with the monkey twins Full House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_House), and is currently Tony Gates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Gates) in ER (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ER_%28TV_series%29).

Oh she knows. She's mentioned once that she would totally do Jake Gyllenhaal. But only because she saw jarhead. But then she saw brokeback mountain.

Sorry gracie, that'd be a picture of either sports illustrated or maxim/fhm/GQ/etc. Purely male entertainment.

Got my 5th choice!
Jess from 'The Real Hustle' on BBC3.
Brilliant
Odd, but I don't tend to go for actors as themselves, I guess because you don't really know them and what they're actually like. I do tend to swoon over certain characters in movies though, so here's my top 5.
1. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp)
2. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings - although I prefered Faramir in the books(Viggo Mortenson sp??)
3. Aramis - one of the three musketeers from The Man in the Iron Mask (Jeremy Irons)
4. *cough*Wolverine*cough* from the x-men trilogy (Hugh Jackman)
5. Basically any scrawny bloke with a sword, long dark locks, facial hair and a cheeky but noble nature who fights against impossible odds on a day to day basis. Air of mystery a bonus.
So, that's THAT embarassment out of the way! I don't think Mr. Vik should be too worried that I'll be meeting one of those guys anyplace :P
and i'll also assume that this means that we choose 5 celebrities of the opposite gender.

Ooh... er... Hmm. That episode of Friends is a classic! Anyhow. Mine would maybe be..
1. David Tennant. Especially when he's using his proper Scottish accent. *Swoons*.
2. Johnny Depp... needs no explanation.
3. Hugh Jackman. Phwoar. And he's also a blummin good singer.
4. Hmm.. John Barrowman if he was straight! Haha!
5. This last one is a toughie... I'm gonna say... Patrick Dempsey off Grey's Anatomy.

whattt.. ?! what'd i say wrong?
er.. did i just offend some homosexuals?
See Gracie, it's probably not that you mean anything bad, but it's like calling pink panties and bandages 'skin colour'...
May seem subtle, but it really isn't.
Gracie never meant anything bad by her question I think - she was just clearing up the rules as they applied to her. If people here find same sex peeps more attractive then opposite sex peeps then it's up to them to interpret those rules for themselves.
gracie
21-06-2007, 07:36 PM
um, no. i didn't mean anything bad by my question. i'm still kind of wondering what exactly i did wrong, but i'm guessing that homosexuality has something to do with it... i just asked that question because if the list i made could include celebrities of both genders, it'd be very different. there are loads of female actors that i'd love to meet and interoggate... ahem, talk to.
so. i'm really sorry for anything i might have said in this thread to offend any person. :/
Gracie never meant anything bad by her question I think - she was just clearing up the rules as they applied to her. If people here find same sex peeps more attractive then opposite sex peeps then it's up to them to interpret those rules for themselves.
Well obviously, but it still implies something to put it like that. She also said 'we'.
I don't know... if you got a registration form for something and they wouldn't list 'heterosexual', how would you feel? (Other than: 'surprised that they ask for my sexuality').
It may seem futile, (and it's not at all meant to be an attack on Gracie because I bet she doesn't mean anything by it), but it's the subtle discrimination that's the most 'painful', so to speak. You can't attribute it to a person's ignorance, only to whatever is considered accepted and taken for granted.
MsNerdinator
21-06-2007, 08:11 PM
I also did not see any harm in what gracie was asking, and I saw it exactly how Vik has stated. If I felt there was any sort of subtle discrimination, knowing me I would have told her, lol. I dunno, maybe this is something you can take into a PM so that it doesn't ruin this general thread :)
I can understand why gracie said "we". She meant it a general sense. As in, for the people who are replying. And like her, I see beauty in both genders (who doesn't?), so I can understand her asking if it only referred to the opposite gender :) I know that it *looks* like she was asking on behalf of those who are only attracted to the opposite gender.. but I don't think that was her goal. She was referring to herself, but let out a "we". I don't think it's even subtle discrimination, to be honest. But that's just how I interpreted what she said. We all mess up like that (in our wording), I know I do it sometimes too, but I'm also not one to discriminate.
Sorry for continuing this and ruining your thread, lotts (i.e. going off topic). My apolgoies for any inconveniences. :)
Hmm.. as for what men I like..
Like Vik, I'm not attracted to any celebrities like that, because I'm not the sort who wants to sleep with someone without actually knowing who they really are. They're just "good looking". But I do like my fictional characters :P
Mr Darcy of Pride and Prejudice.. :embarrassed:
I love that character.
Edit: Okay, *someone*! laughed at my Mr Darcy comment, lol. So I'll explain why. ;)
When I say Mr. Darcy, I don't mean the actual actors who have played the characters, for example, Colin Firth (though he did an excellent job). I just love the character of Darcy. Very quiet, modest, a big poopoohead at first, and then he turns into such a loving person. Cuuute. Aww...
gracie
21-06-2007, 08:16 PM
um. yeah, sorry to lotts for screwing up the thread..
thanks Nerdy. that's a lot more coherent than i'd ever manage. her interpretation = correct. so again, i apologize. i didn't think that a sentence like that would stir anything up, and i truly did not mean anything by it. it was just a phrase i stuck in to try to clarify something and that i didn't give any thought to.
lmao, Mr. Darcy?
oh! oh! anyone ever seen 'The Importance of Being Ernest" (no, that's not a typo) with Reese Witherspoon? i'd love to meet the two actors who were both pretending to be Ernest. great movie. xD
Yeah, see, this is a thread about 'people you'd like to spend the night with', as Lotts said in the first post, that's why I interpreted Gracie's comment the way I did (from a 'sexual attraction' viewpoint).
You didn't offend me in any way (it takes a lot more), but I just wanted to point it out because it's such a subtle thing.
So subtle I think I missed something... :S
Only 5... awww. :)
Sheridan Smith
Hayden Panettiere
Salma Hayek
Liz Hurley
Shakira - if she'd dance for me.
I think that'll do... although this list is subject to revision ;)
Not that the other half would ever go for this idea. lol
That's exactly the problem Ches.

I totally know what you mean and he would so be in my list of top fictional characters, along with Mr Rochester (and if he looked like Toby Stephens that would be a huge bonus ahem.) I mean, they're both brooding heroes who change so much for the better. And Mr Rochester is just so dark and mysterious! Oh how I love my period characters...

Innocense indeed, but also awareness. I'm just not an "aware" human being, and if i'm not aware of the issues, how can i be sensible about them? Luckily there's plenty of people that start throwing rocks at me when i get one of my famous foot-in-mouth fits.
