Do forgive if this has been discussed but I didn't see it...
While I love the change that a booted player cannot return to the room he was booted from, I don't understand why you can't skip a cheating player more than once.
We now have to sit through someone writing garbage once he's been voted against just because we can't vote again? I don't understand the point of this. I've only seen a player be skipped unjustly maybe twice although I'm sure it happens more than that but this is really a pain and simply allows people to write round after round and there's nothing we can do about it!? Ugh!

Twice? I see it quite a lot, sadly. I've seen people get skipped unjustly just because one vote abuser does it, and another follows their lead. Actually, this happened to me yesterday. I was skipped by two people (no writing whatsoever).
Anyway, I've previously thought about this and wondered why there is a restriction on how many times we're allowed to skip someone. The only thing that I could think of is that.. it stops a random bully from skipping someone (over and over again) who isn't violating the rules in any way possible. Sure, we can vote to boot them out.. but if you're a newbie with a dot.. Eeek... you're open to being skipped again.. and again.. and again.. by people who enjoy it, sadly.
Could you imagine being skipped that many times and having no powers over it? :/ And it would be frustrating for a regular player, too.
I understand how you feel about it.. it annoys me as well when I can't skip someone for writing again, or drawing porn (if there weren't enough people to boot them out the room). But I guess there is less damage with the restrictions. And of course.. it's difficult if there isn't an admin around.

It's been this way for as long as I can remember so I'm not sure what makes you think it's been changed. Of course if they refresh their browser they can then return to the same room and resume playing the game.

In my opinion, I feel that newbies get their voting rights to soon, I personally feel raising it to at least 30 games would be better, also when you start a draw , it's states no letters allowed, I would like to it read but numbers are ok, so many times I get warn for using numbers , drives me mad.
edit: soz have gone slighty off original topic.

Cz of my new comp... I've recently been a newbie. I was playing in a room with 2 ppl i know well yesterday and they didn't know it was me
hehehe. I lost my dot, but still have no privs. I played a bit last night, and also today, but I still have no yellow triangle and keep going for it to find it gone. lol :embarrassed:
I kept my old hard drive, so I suppose I could go and rake out the cookie.. but honestly? I can't be bothered lol
With you on the off-topic there jewels..
/me slaps herself on the wrist
If it said numbers are ok players would often give letter counts which, of course are not.
It's also important, I believe, to remember that votes are a privilege and not a right. There's a subtle but important difference there
Buffers catch me later today after work and we'll try to see what's happening with your votes

Really? I never noticed this. Are you talking about when it says "this person has already been reminded by someone in your area" or something like that?
I always took that to mean that although it didn't show up, the vote registered because sometimes I see people getting skipped with one vote - and I just assumed that there were two other votes as well, but they just weren't announced.

Hehe.....That's an almighty bump!
I've never seen it say anything like 'This person has already been reminded by someone in your area.' But I have seen the one which goes something like; 'You have already voted to skip this player.' Which basically means repeat offenders who don't get skipped (due to not enough votes) from their first offence can continue to offend.

I think people who only get voted once but still get skipped have been voted and successfully skipped beforehand =)
Was it always like this? (Can only vote once)
I must admit, it's rather annoying.

Actually, it goes something more like this: "You (or someone else in your area) have already voted to skip this player." Something like that. It hasn't "always" been like that. Been playing for yeeeaars so I can't tell you when I first noticed it...
I guess it makes sense to have that, since we can refresh our IPs or whatever, or simply vote to boot the person violating the rules. However, we may not want to boot, and instead we want to provide a kind, red reminder with a whistle sound effect to the violator.
Too bad we can't each time. =\

I feel that clarification is needed so will try to explain.
It takes 3 votes from different players to skip a draw in the same way it takes 3 to boot. Until the player receives those 3 votes you can't vote to skip them again hence the "someone from your location has already voted" message. Once the violating player has been skipped anyone is then able to skip vote on subsequent rounds and it will only take 1 vote to skip the player.
I hope that all makes sense

I feel that clarification is needed so will try to explain.I'm not sure what the original context of this thread was, but here is what I think Fy_Nyte and sketches were discussing:
Player 1 casts a vote against Player 2's drawing.
Player 2 does not have any previous votes, so the round ends normally when the timer runs out.
A few rounds later, it is Player 2's turn again. Player 1 sees a reason to cast a vote, but is unable to do so, as their previous vote is still active.Let me know if I misunderstood.

I believe you are correct here in what Fy_Nyte was asking. Basically you can only skip or boot vote a player once. When they've eventually been 3 vote skipped or booted anyone can then vote again and the one vote action will be in place to skip or boot. I believe in the case of skip votes this is to prevent one person skip voting the same player 3 times. To actually be skipped there have to be votes from 3 different players to try and avoid abuse of this function.

I see.....
The screenshot shows the player being skipped on the 3rd vote. I'm guessing the 4th was a so close it showed up even though it did not count.
