Bonjour,
You asked for a translation of my idea... so i'll try to give you a good one :embarrassed:
I think it's possible to enhance the game by adding some new words, coz the language is alive... so... i thought it that way :
1. Each one should be able to submit a word that he wants to see added on the list.
2. in a second time each one can vote for one word, once per day per IP.
3. In a last time, all the popular words are now classified
and can be allowed or denied to enter in the list (sorry for my english )
The third part could be done by admin... which are already the keeper of the well-playing attitude .
I vote YES.

Ma Français est mal aussi. J'ai compris Vik, mais seulement un petit peu de citronfraise ('s post!). Cependant, je pense que Vik a eu une bonne idée.
Je vais traduire votre idée à Google..
Ooh! Une bonne idée. Mais, je conviens de Nay, c'est difficile pour l'implementer.
Pardon pour les errores...mistakes...quelquechoses
Edit:
Oh, so you speak English!
Votre anglais est trés bien :)
First - apologies that a lot of us cannot continue this dicsussion in French although the discussion is still there in the French section if any of your fellow countrymen would like to join in.
OK, so basically you're suggesting that each player can submit new words for specific wordlists in order to allow the game to progress and change just like language does.
Then the rest of us can vote each day for a newly suggested word, based on IP, and it'll be admin's job to filter out all the bad suggestions and rude words which you so kindly included in your original post but seem to have come over all shy about here :P
I love this idea. To me this would bring the game onto a higher level. I get sick of people guessing draws in 2 seconds because they pretty much know the word list off-by-heart, and I'd really love to see some new challenges pop up now and then
This idea has my vote - in theory. I'd love to hear from someone who knows how possible this is to implement.
Citronfraise - if there is anything you don't understand due to language issues, please send me a message and I'll do my best to babelfish the hell out of both our languages... :P
Any player can submit new words for a specific wordlist by mailing them to feedback (info@isketch.net). In fact there are a lot of player submitted lists being played at the game already. As for an admin monitoring a specific list I'm sorry but to me this sounds pretty much impossible as admins are already stretched with their current duties at isketch. Also linking any contributions to an ip would not be very practicale as a large number of players including myself have an ip that varies.
One easy suggestion I have for breathing some fresh air into your playing would be to try new and different rooms. Many players seem to get stuck in Easy rooms that are in fact aimed at new players and then complain about getting bored. Give some of the different rooms a try you might find something you love. For me it's homophones but there's rarely anyone playing there
BB, the point is that the words actually end up in the game within half a year (no offence to the people at feedback, I bet they have their reasons). By making a direct way of contributing words people will feel more encouraged to submit new words, perhaps. But yes, it'd need a lot of policing because it has a good chance of being abused :/
As far as I'm aware most wordlists submitted via feedback are live within weeks if suitable.

... within weeks, or... months, or... years
I speak hardly english and i think most of the players in France don't speak english... so they will not submit anything coz they don't really know how to ask for it...
the other point is that could be a "part" of the game...
In iSketch you can train to sketch in your studio... we could also train our words...
Maybe it could be with a little "train your words" game like a "hangman" or "wheel of fortune", in parallel to iSketch...
I'm ok ok to help you need to...
i can make some little games in Flash if you're interested in...
thx for diffusing the idea in english :embarrassed:

Have you tried asking one of the French admins ? I'm sure they would be more than willing to explain how to submit a wordlist.

Of course i did :!:
We already send some new lists which are now mixed with the old ones
We made so much effort to have new lists and now they're purely dissolved in the other f#ck£%$ lists
I hope i'll be admin soon to keep the game funny, interesting and educative :embarrassed:
I already told to Rob and to many of french admins.
One has agreed with that so... hopefully...
have good time and see you soon =)
Good luck with becoming admin, and good luck with this idea. You need to take it up with the people who have some power in this game. I think it would be a tricky one to introduce, and I think more admin would have to be appointed to police it, but I really really hope it somehow happens because I love it.
I don't see it much of an issue to add new words to the wordlists, that's a good thing as far as i can see. But also consider that what one player might consider a new word might just not be new at all, because they have never encountered it, or perhaps have but don't remember ever having it or guessing it. Wordlists must have thousands of words (IMO anyway), and though i have played in movies for years, every week i'm finding new movies that i have never guessed or drawn.
Still, giving it a shot and emailing additions couldn't hurt anybody.

That's a good point, actually. I was playing in a UK easy room the other day with a well known regular. We both pretty much play daily, and the rooms we mostly stick to are UK easy rooms. She had the word 'location' to draw, and said after that it's new word. I told her it isn't, because I've seen it a few times, and had to draw it once before (aaaages ago). It's just one of those words you hardly ever see.

From iSketch instructions:
"The words repeat too often!
There are a finite number of suitable words in each language or category and we are close to that limit for most of the rooms. Some of the "special subject rooms" like Phrases and Movies have fewer words than the language rooms, having around 3,000 words each. This is as many as can be put in each list without individual puzzles becoming too difficult or obscure.
The Easy English rooms contain a subset of the 10,000-word English wordlist. If you play regularly in these rooms, try the English Expert room for a bigger selection of words, which will result in fewer repeats.
There are movies and phrases that I have never heard of. Where did you get them?
All lists have been carefully researched and compiled from numerous sources. To offer a big list, in certain cases it has been necessary to include obscure entries. We made sure, however, that these more uncommon words are easy to draw. Each list is updated regularly and as new entries are added, many obscure ones are deleted."
Personally I think the easy rooms are fine the way they are. When it comes to people who know the list well guessing too quickly, that's a much bigger issue in multi word rooms. In halloween, you can guess "the house of seven gables" just from a house, or "the red masque of death" just from red... The same goes for movies/Big pic/ animals etc.

in english and short version:
citronfraise, if you need any help in adding new lists or words to the French word list I am willing to help. Wordlists have been checked and proved on "are they to be drawn and guessed?" over the months, newbies don't have the long-time experience and therefore the words aren't repetitive to them.
IMO: Voting on words via IP doesn't seem to be feasible (see BB's Point on variable IPs)

Bonne chance avec ta candidature!
