Split Humour/Debate thread

I have been reading the Humour and Debate section on this forum and there is on thread on there called 'The Debate Thread'

The topics on that thread are quite intense, and have moved on fairly quickly from one to another. Perhaps some people may have not had the opportunity to put forward their opinion before the topic has changed.

If you split the sections into two (or have two sub-sections) - one for Humour, and one for Debate then you could have the different topics listed as new threads so that people could continue to contibute...(or it could be closed off officially if needed..)

Yeh, there certainly seems to be enough content on each side to warrent two sub-forums. Leave it open to discussion here for a few days incase somone comes up with a stong counter-argument that we haven't thought of yet!

Just to elaborate even further.

Supposing a separate debate/humour thread was allowed. Would that mean that we could open up separate debates and let them run their course (locking them when all points have been cross-examined, torn apart, tears shed, friendships up in flames... )

The reason I ask this is that the current debate thread is great... but a few things I would like to have been expanded on, couldn't - because the thread changed topic for a variety of different reasons.

It's probably a really silly question now that I am reading this back - but I love debating and really have some juicy topics for you all to munch on and digest how you will

Thoughts/Feedback/Insults/Compliments welcome

Thoughts - Not usually
Feedback - I don't have my electric guitar handy
Insults - lol, better not :P
Compliments - umm... nice.. wings?

I think its a good idea too. Like TF said, its a shame when you come into a debate that's already finished.

Yep TF, that's how it is.
Just a separate section for debate. Within it you can open a new topic for each... well, topic! I think it's a great idea; we can get some more debating in here.

There's nothing stopping anyone from doing that now. If there is a topic you would like to discuss / debate anyone is welcome to create a thread for it.

I'm not a fan of 'all-encompassing' threads for this very reason. Even, to a lesser degree, Random Funnyness and Random Confusions, and the other Randoms. No offense to the OPs and they do get a fair bit of use so I must be in the minority! ;)
