strange error / can't play at all

I used to play this game a lot on my old Windows 98 computer.

As soon as I got a new Windows XP computer a few years ago, the game stopped working.

I can log in and enter a room just fine, but when I get into a room, I can't play. When others are drawing, almost all of the lines become distorted and turn into straight lines that run until they hit the edge of the canvas. It's like watching paint run...

Problem #2 is that even if I can figure out what the drawing is and guess, my guess is never registered. I can type the right answer over and over (in the right box of course) and the answer will never register as "correct". Other people can read my other text just fine, so the text is going through, but for some reason my answers are NEVER right.

Anyone know what the problem is?

And yeah, I have the newest version of shockwave and firefox. Even when I use IE instead of firefox, though, I get the same problem...

anyone know the solution? I miss being able to play this game...

Cain is an unknown quantity at this point
Sounds like typical symptoms of using a non-latin keyboard setup. Are you using something like Chinese, Russian or Korean for example?

Eek, a few years without the game? :( If no one on the forum can help you, you can also email iSketch feedback at: info@isketch.net (if you haven't done so already).

Welcome to the forum, domino :)

I've recently had the problem that you've had, domino. The drawings come out distorted, and my guesses are never right. Say the word is 'dragonfly': I'll guess 'dragonfly.' The little red words will pop up and go "You have found one word: Dragon." I think it's because my computer's been lagging like crazy, but I just stopped playing iSketch on that computer. No idea what's wrong with it.

Ahh, I think my region settings might be the problem. My computer's program setting is in Japanese.... I guess I'll have to switch it to English to play? I'll test it next time I restart.

I never had the "letters = boxes" problem and thought that as long as I was in English keyboard input mode I would be okay, but I guess not.

Guess I'll have to switch my computer to English just to play.... :P (annoying but at least I can play again!)

Thanks for the fast help :D
