Ninjas are way cooler, they're more cunning and sneakier, plus if they really wanted to they could ride boats and loot, but they would rather use cool tricks to steal.

Ninjas work alone don't they? Pirates come in numbers, and if memory and experience serves me well, "working alone" always receives a good asskicking from "numbers". Plus, pirates usually carry firearms, ninjas can't stop bullets can they...? hehe.
