Which car do you own?

...Or if you do not own a car and travel by your trusty legs or public transport, which car would you like to own?

Hehe....I drive a grey 1986 BMW 535i I enjoy it, and it's in really great condition although the interior has a couple of messed up areas.

However.....VERY expensive to repair. I destroyed the oil pan on it in June and a new one would have been like $600. Instead, I found one on eBay for $30US and after shipping it was around $100....so that was all fine and well. And then it took them 5 hours to install the bugger, so I still ended up with a $640 bill!!!!

I drive a red Vauxhall Astra (the old type, I'm not rich ) I was lucky to receive my parents' old car but as it is quite old now it is only really suitable for short journeys. I only use it as a "run-around" so, in that case, it is ideal for me.

I have a silver Honda Jazz. Before anyone thinks about knocking it, try driving one. It's really smooth on the roads and the engine's so quiet. My sisters had it before I passed my test hence why that's what I drive. Other than the small bits of damage caused to it, I wouldn't change it.

I'd really like to have a big part in choosing our next car although I dunno what it would be.

My trusty feet get me around to lots of places, I used to have a 1988 Chevy Nova but sold it for a $500 right before i left to mexico. right now since i am home for the summer and not out at college so i bum off my brothers Toyota Corolla when i need it. To get to work i take public transportation (lightrail, and since i work for the company, its free!).

Ideally, i would like to own an Audi A4, but thats still quite a ways out of my price range. Most likely i will buy a Corolla from the late 90's or early 00's in the next year or two.

My car is a 2007 hyundai getz. That'd be the 6th car i've owned. Great little car, easy to drive and park, gets the best gas mileage i've ever had and it's very roomy on the inside. I'm 190cm tall and i'm very comfortable in it. Could have a more powerful engine but it does the job well. Parts for it are CHEAP :) and the car is so simple even i can do some light work on it. i'm very pleased with it.

My wife's car is a 2009 dodge caliber. It's a huge freaking station wagon and i feel like i'm driving a bus when i'm at the wheel. However, the engine kicks and it's very comfortable, especially on long trips, and it comfortably fits a baby car seat and the stroller in the back. Gas mileage sucks though, it should have at least a bigger gas tank or at least a 2.5L engine instead, to have more power and thus less gas burning.

There you have it :)

I'm trying to get the sort of mileage that would qualify for an article in the The Sun, you know the sort, saying its done so many miles it could have driven to the moon 200,000 would be good enough for me ... another 2 years driving to go!

The average distance from the moon to the Earth is 238,857 miles (384,392 kilometers).
So a fair bit to go then.

I don't drive, but hubby has a Mazda 3 right now - we've had it almost 3 years, so it's time to get a new one. With bubs on the way, we're going for a Mercedes B class. Hubby thinks it's an old man's car, but I like how it's a bit higher than the Mazda, and therefore easier for tall people (i.e. me and my husband) to get things like babies out of the back seat :P

Haha, I find it quite surprising that a car can do that many miles and only have had a few problems. My neighbour has a Ford (not sure which model it is, it's rather small) that has done almost 95,000 miles and he has had many problems with it.

Only 3 years and you're thinking of a new car?! My goodness ^.^
Just because it's called Mazda 3 doesn't mean it will last 3 years ^^

I would like to own a tank. My dad said he would buy one if we had enough space for me to park it, which I thought was silly as I could just run over all the cars in the way :) or houses or what nots :)

If not a tank, I'd like one of those pick up trucks. I really like big cars, my dads owns one of these 7 seater thingers. :) I'm not sure how easy it would be to drive something that big though as I only know how to drive/am learning to drive in the normal sized cars.

But atm I travel around on my baby. :) (No, not an actual baby) My bicycle, which is amazing. :) And then use buses/trains/parents/friends for other journeys :)

LOL! Sorry, I should have explained - it's a company car, and we HAVE to change every 3 years for a new one, although we get a choice of what we get. This time we are going for the Merc B as opposed to one of the many similar type of cars because my husband works for Daimler (who make Mercedes) and he's showing solidarity in the credit crunch by getting one of their cars :P Actually, we took one for a test drive and it was really comfy and nice to drive. So, yeah, get a Merc and help my husband keep his job! :P

I actually own a 2004 White Chevy Aveo (well i'm still making payments on it )

It may look tiny from the outside but i think its quite roomy. and I swear you can fit at least 3... did you read that... Yes 3 (maybe 4 if your lucky) dead bodies in the trunk... Its freaking HUGE!!!

P.S. Just wanted to comment on Deadlock's car... ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

You get to choose the car you want from the company? Boy, I would have though they would just give you the cheapest cars to run, or no company car at all, what with the economic crisis and so and so.

Nooo, did you take out the finance options which display something like "payments will continue to be paid for up to a maximum of 15 years, at which point you will have paid almost 5x the original value of the car to us" in small print ? (Don't know why I put a smiley face there).
