Why do icons make IE close?

Every now and then when i hover over peoples names to see info, icon etc it causes IE to close. I just tried to change the pic in my profile and as soon as i put in the new info it closed IE too.

I know turning off viewing icons stops it closing but does anyone know why it happens in the first place and if there's anything i can do to fix it, rather than just turn icons off?

Ta.

Dear Bill,

I know you must be p*ssed off at no longer being the world's richest man so while you're in a bad mood can you just go and kick the guys who built IE? It's shonky. It has always been shonky. And the way things are going its shonkiness is just getting worse. So go fix your browser... while I go off to install Firefox.

Thank you,

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with IE issues. :|
I'll refrain from all the Microsoft bashing... get a mac, get a mac, get a mac!

(IE is the worse browser I've ever stumbled across)

LMAO @ Windows Vespa

Even though the concept of there being nothing wrong with any version of Windows has to be an oxymoron!

Sketchy sometimes I get that problem too. I usually clear my cache and restart the computer. It usually works, but I'm sure you would have tried that.

Veni Vidi Vespa?

Try Mozilla/Firefox as your internet browser and run tha for a day or two.
Then try IE again - I found it works as well as it used to after a few days.

Have you tried immersing your keyboard in a bucket of weak cloudy ammonia solution?

I use to have a problem with IE as well. Ever since I switched to Mozilla, I have not had a single problem. As for the weak cloudy ammonia solution....ignore BM.

As for fixing, i find that dumping IE works wonders for the icon situation. If you're just not ready for it, then try emailing feedback and suggest that for the next release to fix the icon-browser compatibility issues. Not saying that isketch is to blame, but they're more likely to work on solving problems than microsoft; they seem to just be working on how to make our lives more difficult.

And ehem, i believe i said 8 months ago that Vista would be as much of a flop as Me. I warned you people!

Since iSketch probably makes use of some of shockwave's builtin features for displaying icons im more inclined to suggest its a shockwave to IE compatibility problem.

I agree with that. I don't think iSketch are even able to fix that problem. Maybe improve it a little? But fix.. that sounds like quite a task :S In most cases, each browser handles iSketch in a different way. For example, I'm on a mac and I use Safari. A friend of mine is on a mac, but uses Opera for iSketch because Safari isn't good for it. And as you know with the IE icon problem, it is common, but not everyone experiences it.

* MsNerdinator blames IE compatibility issues

Of course, we could be completely wrong, heh. I'd be amazed if this was a fixable problem..

I used IE for years and years with iSk, and nothing ever happened except the occasional shut down because of oversized icons. That doesn't happen so often with Firefox. I've only switched to Firefox a few months ago because iSk wouldn't load on IE for some reason.

I'm not sure if it's an IE/icon compatibility thing or a shockwave thing... doesn't seem to make sense that it used to work and now all of a sudden, it doesn't.

However, Firefox is a pretty name =)

I doubt theyd listen in an attempt to make their primitive <censored> (did say the name of their game but I feel it should be censored anyway) more popular.

Hehe, I cant see InkLink being any competition for iSketch any time soon, for a start the whole interface of their game is primitive compared to iSketch anyway.
