What would you do if you owned iSketch?
What would you keep the same? What would you change? What would you add? What would you completely take away? It's up to you. Go overboard! Or just keep it realistic! You decide!

Haha...Good question Rave. Well, I've thought about it for a long time (xD), Firstly, I'll change iSketch, and create registered usernames. I've heard of imposers, which are such a problem. Hmm...And I'll give a certificate to any person who beat the record of winning 1000 rounds :D That would make people be more interested in playing. I think I'll take nothing away for everything in iSketch is almost compulsary. Haha...I can't think of anything else to change. Errr...And reward the admins once every year, for keeping iSketch peaceful and fun.
But, too bad it isn't real or else. Hehe, I don't know what would happen if I were to own iSketch. * Faith predicts iSketch would be in chaos if she were to own it. >.< |

I think isketch as it is, is pretty much perfect other than the usual rants about user regisrations.
But to make it slightly more fun i would incorporate a ranking system as its good to boost your ego,s and see how you fair in the game, nice idea dean. Also id have the vip area as pay only so say all the people wanting to go to the vip area pay a small amount each visit, which would hopefully keep the adolesants out who seem hellbent on causing ructions, and just maybe we would get a few idiot free games. Other than that im sure there are tons of other fun things to add, but like i said isketch is to me just great as it is. |

As they are i don't find stats are of any value. If a ranking system were to be implemented then yeah sure, stop them from leaving before the end of round 10, but right now i think it's their business when they leave as they're not hurting anybody, just being ridiculous.

good question. lol, but honesty, i'd never wanna owned isketch.
i enjoyed this game pretty much as a player, but i don't think i'll ever wanna be the owner of this game... standing at the player's point of view, yes, it's easy to say we want this, we want that~ blah blah blah~ but standing at the developer's point of view, ppl will never satisfy. After those features are added, new problems/ issues will come again like a cycle, which concludes why there are so many versions up til now. (kudos for the isketch maintenance team btw. =]) and more features = more data to maintain = need more resources / man-power to help you to maintain. Sourcing for people, managing of cash flow for isketch etc etc etc takes time and plus your life outside isketch, blah blah blah... so troublesome! and notice that isketch only have one email for every queries/ feedbacks/ suggestions/ application for admin all post to one email address... and everyday is like people all over the world are having big problems, small problems, all were asked to "email to info@isketch..." i have no idea how many ppl are at the backstage helping with the daily operation of isketch, but seriously, i guess just by dealing with sorting out of mails alone is already a big headache. . . kudos again for the owner of isketch. . .

I totally agree with ICHI's post above.
BUT BUT BUT....I would make 1 or 2 small changes (ok 5 or 6) 1. I would give admins the power to block/ban users with offensive names. 2. No letters are allowed.........hmmm tut tut tut personal messages are..... ( we all know the issues this causes) 3. I would make a bigger buddylist. 4. I would introduce newbie/naughty persons training rooms ( this would involve a newbie having to play in a training room until he/she gets the hang of the game then once proven to be a decent player and knowledge of the game they can then join public rooms, also naughty players would be sent to this room (rather than just the 30 mins block) . The training rooms would be monitored by admins (when avaliable) and the admins can decide when a player is ready to be set free to public rooms.....thus this way admins shouldn't be needed that often in public rooms. 5. I would set up 200000 volts to be sent down players pc's who say WTF or repeatly say HINT HINT HINT.... 6. Last but not least, if i owned isketch I would either make it chargable or have adverts to cover the costs. edit: I would also like to have the feature where a player can get in contact with an admin (if one on) eg. /msg admin ( any player who then abuses this feature would have it removed. All of you have good ideas! I think I'd create a ranking as well as having playes register. If a player wished they could pay a fee to obtain VP privileges but every player must be registered with a username and password.

What jewels said! (and very good they were too
Oh... and that insult command would be put firmly in Room 101. For any person that would try it they would get a huge fist come out of the monitor and punch them on their nose. Howzzzat for an insult

Why stop at the done button? Get rid of that annoying Hint button too.
Also, I don't think it would be great to make new people play in rooms with trouble makers Last edited by NoHints; 16-11-2007 at 01:43 AM. |

Ive already suggested larger buddylists to admins and feedback before, But I believe it takes up to much resources. also that admins could have the power to change a noobs tabbed window!

Ah some good suggestions! I don't think I have any new ones
1. Dean's idea of admin being able to physically tab people into the correct window would save a lot of frustration I think 2. Jewels' suggestion of banning all letters - so many arguments over what constitutes a PM etc.... 3. TempusFugit's views on the /insult command - hear! hear! 4. Agree with NoHInts on that 10 games is not long enough to really learn the rules etc - so dedicated training rooms - perhaps with 'trainers' as opposed to/in addition to 'admin' who help new players learn the game. Admin seem to have too much work to do just monitoring the game, so not much time for assisting new players to learn. Hmm, thinking about this out loud - if a person logs on with a dot - give the option of "New Player" (directed to an area that has rooms with 'trainers') or "???" (can't think of words - but for regular players on new computers etc) which would direct them to the regular room list. 5. A little message to the person you have put on ignore to say that you have put them on ignore

Ha, that would be kinda amusing NH ^

Recently the number of times I've had to re-newb myself is countless and I think having to wait for 10 rounds to get voting privs back is kinda frustrating, especially cos when I can't vote, that just happens to be the time when I'm in a room full of cheaters/people playing "iWrite my answer" etc. However, I'd agree with a plan like that if iSketch acknowledged that it was a registered account perhaps, in which case there would be no need to earn the voting privs back. |

A few thoughts on the points mentioned already from the "other side of the fence" as it were.
Training Rooms Well essentially that's what Easy rooms were 1st put there for in the hope that current players would make newbies welcome and encourage them to play by the rules. Sadly this only seems to work for some of the time. As for trainers ?? Well think about the logistics of getting enough people to agree to be online training at a certain time of day giving up their regular playing hours and making sure that all languages and timezones would be covered. Don't get me wrong it's a lovely idea that's been discussed many times but I can't see it actually working Admins being able to tab players I think this would be very popular with admins who, like myself, have spent ages sending messages in bold, PM and finally resorting to big red letters on the draw canvass trying to get people into the right box. /msg Admin I'm 200% certain this would be abused no end by the players who already cause enough disruption at the game without being able to give admins extra grief. Yes I know you suggested it being removed from players that abuse it but they already get around many things I'm sure they would find a way to get around that too LOL. |

Personally I'd like to see Easy rooms smaller (more chances to practice drawing) and more helpful to new players, as BB said. |

I think 10 is bearable, but how about a limit of 10, no invites? That way a room can't get out of hand with 1 person inviting 8 others when the room is already full.
