Just say for instance that we were to take a bad man and a good man and then put them on a remote desert island where they were the only inhabitants and leave them there with enough provisions to last them for 10 years. After we had left them there for 10 years and went back for them would we find that:
1................There were now 2 good men on the island. 2................There were now 2 bad men on the island. 3................There was still 1 good man and 1 bad man on the island.

2 good men.
I'm an eternal optimist. There's nothing bad they can get up to on the island, and I think being miserable for that long wouldn't be an option. The bad man would eventually see that the good man was happier (assuming good people are happier than bad people, which is something I believe) and would become more peaceful and happy too.

I would have to go with 2 good men, seeing as after that long, they would either have killed each other or learned the value of cooperation and friendship. It can be very lonely when the only other person is someone you hate.

I would say 2 bad men, because you know, I'm all about corruption
10 years, could drive a person mad, and they would probably just end up insane. |

I think that there would be two bad men. Peer pressure is the devil, and if you only have one peer, the bad usually wins over the good. They'd be happy in their badness, I think. Think Lord of the Flies...the good kids either got killed or went over to the bad side (apart from Ralph....go Ralph!)
Having said that, it depends on how bad the bad man was...because there could only be one man left on the island. |

I can't choose an option I don't believe it's possible to tell the outcome without the details of the island, the food supply and the full psychological profiles of the two men. Humans are faaarrrr to complex to be able to say what would happen without knowing every variable. Even with every variable it'd still be hard to say.
Sorry :( Didn't mean to put a downer on the thread, lol.

Well it would depend who they were.
If it was me and Nexus, then we would act like a married couple and end up being 2 bad men. If it was me and Gio, then we would be 2 good men and a family If it was Nexus and Gio, then , well only them two can answer that

Psst Pete, I think it's more of a psychological 'cup half full' test rather than a full-scale scientific experiment... you don't need to KNOW what would happen, just what you THINK would happen.
Nino - married couples can do bad things? * Vik and Mr. Vik reach for the sawn-offs...

Oh, so married couples can do bad things but then they have to go on Jerry Springer? Darn.
I'm still in the '2 good men' camp, although can you imagine, after 10 years? They'd have missed soo much. Is Jerry Springer even still on TV? I love not knowing the answer to that, lol.

I'm with the 2 good men option aswell. Only because I think most people are bad due to an attention issue or due to peer pressure of having live up to other peoples expectations and acceptance.
Being on a island with only one other person eliminates the need for the bad person to act up. With the other guy being "good" he should disprove of the negative attitude of the bad person, thus eventually converting his behavior. Also it would become very boring to maintain a high level of badness.

In the first year the two men would argue.
In the second, the good man will become worse and the bad man better. In the third, there will be a "morality inversion" where the good becomes bad and the bad becomes good. Now the fourth year is the key. If the bad (previously good) man strays too far to the bad side, he will kill the good (previously bad) man. I can't see him living too long after this, so I'll give him 6-12 months more. If the bad (previously good) man recalls his goodness (perhaps by witnessing the current good man's actions) then he will become better and both men (now both good) will survive for the duration. So, to conclude, either 0 survivors

i sayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy we get 2 very annoyed but good survivors....but it does depend on how big the island is, cause i mean one could totally get lose and make a home in the middle of the island...or if the island actually has some pretty cool stuff, they could have a lot of fun? XD
